Hello!
It’s Wendy Pratt here, founder and editor in chief of Spelt Magazine, a print magazine devoted to celebrating and validating the rural experience through creative non fiction, poetry, poetry film and now with a brand new podcast.
Our first guest for the podcast is poet Sharon Black who I was able to chat to about her books, in particular The Last Woman Born on the Island, splitting her life between France and Scotland, the romanticism of isolated living and what you need to survive in a place with no people, facilitating workshops and retreats and of course her motivation and inspiration. I was delighted that Sharon also read her poem Recipes. The Last Woman Born on the Island is an exploration of the past and the present, and a celebration of the landscapes, both physical and emotional, that make up our lives.
